Search Engine Optimisation Service Fees

The Bruce Clay Australia company offers many types of SEO services all rooted in search engine optimisation but helps our clients in different ways based on their specific needs. In general our service fees are intended to be all-inclusive.

Each service has been developed to help a client along a specific stage in their website needs. In addition, each service is comprised of a specific set of services or tasks with fee discounts already applied. Therefore, specific service tasks (ex: keyword research and analysis) are not available on an a la carte basis and SEO fees are not negotiable. It turns out that it is less expensive to simply buy a new car, than to buy all the individual pieces and build it yourself.

At present, we offer 7 types of SEO services:

Professional Search Engine Optimisation Services

Most clients hire us to perform search engine optimisation on their site so they can concentrate on doing their full time job instead of SEO. Whether your site targets local, national or multi-national or international customers, we typically optimise a core set of pages and work with the client to implement best practises on the balance. The combination of optimised pages plus best practises normally yields the site with high rankings over time.

Unlike some, we do not charge clients a per keyword fee. Instead we charge clients a per page fee - as organic ranking is based on relevancy and relevancy is largely derived from breadth and depth of content.

It is important to note that SEO is a one-to-many keyword permutation relationship - at least when implemented correctly. This means that one particular keyword can produce multiple permutations along with an unknown amount of other combinations. This one-to-many keyword relationship similar to but significantly exceeds the broad matching capability on PPC. In most instances, we typically target about 4 keywords per page but your mileage may vary.

It is not uncommon that while we may target 30 keywords, after analysing the log files with our web site analytics, the traffic from these keywords produces several hundred unique keyword combinations and permutation.

SEO Tools and Technologies

If you are an SEO, web designer, ad agency or do-it-yourself kind of person, then you should consider a subscription to our SEOToolSet™ and associated technologies. These tools are intended for power users and help you perform research, analysis and ranking monitoring. In fact, other SEO firms employ these tools to optimise their client sites.

Due to the popularity of the SEOToolSet, last year we introduced a Certification Program for SEO Analysts, SEMs and partners. Fees start at $90 per quarter per domain. The SEO tools are completely web based - so there is nothing to install or update. In addition, we also provide technical support during normal business hours.

SEO Training and Certification

We believe in the adage of "teaching a man to fish". Therefore, we train clients, web designers, ad agencies and even other SEO firms on our process and methodology to search engine optimisation. Our process and methodology is proven, time-tested and employs spam-fee techniques that do not require you to chase the ranking algorithms. Along the way we show students how to employ the tools in the SEOToolSet. Although online help is available - without training, it can be very challenging to know "when" to use a tool and "how" to interpret the resulting data.

We offer 2 SEO training courses: 1) SEOToolSet basic course and 2) Certification track. Either course is value packed. The training is often presented by Bruce Clay himself, students receive printed course materials, a subscription to the SEOToolSet and technical support.

SEO Consulting Services

Some clients have in house SEO or SEM staff but need some external expertise from an ethical and competent SEO firm to address a specific problem. In other situations, we provide "retainer" style consulting where we critique their work on a monthly basis and keep them abreast of algorithmic changes, updates or filters.

Regardless of the specific situation, we provide SEO consulting services and work with clients and others by guiding them through how to optimise their site.

Consulting projects are priced really as a time and materials type of project, based on your needs and start at $2,000 a month.

SEO Design Assessment Services

From time to time, we are approached to help a client, along with their design firm, design and develop a site so that it can get well ranked. In short, these clients do not want to launch a brand new site and then spend months fixing it after it launches. Unfortunately, this happens way too often.

While web designers and developers are excellent at information architecture, web design, and of course programming, most are not formally trained or have expertise in SEO. As a result, too many sites have launched only to require several months of rework prior to beginning the actual SEO process. In these situations, clients hire their web design firm and we serve to critique the new design and development from a search engine optimisation perspective. Similar to consulting projects, these projects are priced as a time and materials type of project, with most projects starting at a one time fee of: $15,000.

SEO Site Assessment Services

Designed for large scale or complex sites, our Site Assessment Service has been employed to address a myriad of search engine optimisation problems. One client contacted us because one of their affiliates was ranking above them for their keyword phrases. This was very costly and very risky and they wanted to know how to improve their site to get it better ranked than the affiliate.

Another client contacted us indicating their traffic was decreasing and they did not know why. This was particularly troublesome as their business model was advertising and they charged their clients per impression. Hence as their traffic decreased - so did their revenue. They hired us to perform a critique of the site and identify the source of the problem.

While the types of problems we encounter are numerous, the SEO Site Assessment Service helps the business identify the root of problem(s) and how they improve their site and get it well ranked. Although there are several deliverables, the primary deliverable is a highly detailed and entirely custom written report called a Site Assessment Report. Typically these reports average 40-60 pages discussing the findings and concludes with a prioritized list based on the business goals and constraints. SEO fees for the Site Assessment start at a one-time fee of: $15,000.

SEO Jump-Start Service

Acting as a scaled down version of a Site Assessment, the SEO Jump-Start is designed for small businesses and others. This 90-day program combines consulting and training and enables businesses to quickly learn and apply SEO techniques to their web site. Similar to the Site Assessment, we perform a critique of the site but instead of writing a full custom 40-60 page report, we produce an Assessment Brief that is usually 1-3 pages. Building on theme of "teaching a man to fish," this service also includes pages edits, training services, SEOToolSet™ subscription and more.

In any case, it is prudent to assume that it will take months to develop a competent site and to promote it properly. If you are looking for a positive cash flow from the Web in under six months, you will probably be disappointed. We suggest that you have patience with this project, that you have staying power (financially), and that you be dedicated to properly implementing a successful Web strategy. It is not uncommon for a site to take over a year to generate a living for the small business owner doing it themselves, so have a backup plan at all times!
